SYDNEY SIXERS star batsman and wicket keeper Josh Philippe is looking forward to returning to Coffs Harbour after his match winning performance last time at C.ex Coffs International Stadium. “We played very well last time at Coffs Harbour, it was a packed out crowd and a good batting wicket. “The Strikers posted a big score of over 180 runs so it was a big run chase, once I got myself in the ball was moving quickly in the outfield, there was little bit of dew after the lights went and that sped up the outfield and our run chase. “Tommy Curran hit the winning runs and I was very happy with my score of over eighty (runs), the crowd were fantastic, they really got into the game and cheered us on, a great atmosphere and a memory we want to repeat,” said Philippe. The Sydney Sixers have made a solid start to the 2021/22 season winning four out of their opening five matches and are currently in second position on the ladder behind the Perth Scorchers. Philippe was in fine form last week as the Sixers chased down 177 runs from the Melbourne Stars with Philippe hitting a man of the match score of 99 not out. The Sixers play the Melbourne Renegades on New Year’s Day and return to Coffs Harbour on 9 January in a top of the table clash against league leaders Perth Scorchers who have won all five of their games so far. Philippe told News Of The Area the Sixers see Coffs Harbour as a second home. “The two matches in Coffs Harbour are very important, Coffs Harbour is our second home and we need to make our home our fortress. “We have made a good start to the season and want to gather momentum and hit a big score in Coffs Harbour,” said Philippe.
