Summer Reading Program at Great Lakes Library MidCoast LGA (overall news) by NOTA - December 10, 2014 Great Lakes Council’s Library Service wants your children to explore new worlds this summer and it’s as easy as enrolling in the Summer Reading program. “We are running the Summer Reading Program at all Library branches this year,” said Council’s Library Outreach Officer, Ms Meredith Campbell. “The Program is designed to encourage children and youth to read or parents to read to their children over the long Christmas break. “Along with a great way to stimulate active minds and provide loads of entertainment, rewards will be given after a log of ten books have been read,” said Ms Campbell,. “Names of everyone who complete the challenge will go into a barrel to win a special prize at each branch,” she said. To participate, call into any of the Great Lakes Libraries from Monday 8 December to register. You will receive an activity booklet and log sheet. There are three categories, Preschool, Primary and Secondary. A dedicated website provides loads of online games, activities and recommended reads. The prize winners will be announced on Friday 23 January 2015.
