This is what Raelea Gibson from Winnie’s Sweet Creations hopes to do this Saturday 24 January with a fundraiser selling custom designed sugar cookies for those that have helped battle the blazes near and far. “I’m hoping the local Tomaree Peninsula population and visitors alike come down and purchase these specially made cookies we’ve had designed to support our firefighters that have been working months to get on top of these fires,” said Ms Gibson. “All proceeds are going straight to the NSW RFS and local crews.” Ms Gibson has baked over 1000 cookies for the stall that will be operating from 10am with pre-orders available for collection as well. “I’ve had an overwhelming response online and had to stop taking orders for the cookies,” said Ms Gibson. “It’s amazing to see the local support for those who are helping save our county.” By Mitch LEES
