Email us – media@newsofthearea.com.au The focus of the NSW Government investment is to meet the current and future needs of local communities and is expanding the capacity of TAFE NSW to deliver health training to meet growing demand for skilled workers, including in key areas of demand such as Dental Technology, Aboriginal Health, and Aged Care. Mr Lee said that the NSW Government is investing in new facilities so students can access the quality training TAFE NSW is known for. “We are strongly focused on expanding training opportunities across regional communities, backed by this multi-million-dollar investment in Coffs Harbour,” Mr Lee said. Member for Coffs Harbour, Mr. Gurmesh Singh, said the NSW Governments’ decision to deliver the new and upgraded health training facilities was advantageous to our local students and our aging demographic. Mr Singh said “Students now have better access to training facilities.” “The opening showcased a dental chair, an arm that helps practice taking blood out and a machine that helps to lift people, if they have had a fall, from the ground.” “So hands-on training is important for our health industry.” “And as our local population is aging the health sector will see an increase in the number of jobs and if people can do that training here without having to move away that is absolutely fantastic for our local students.” With its world-class facilities and expert teachers, the new Nursing and Allied Health Hub will equip local students with the skills they need to pursue a rewarding career in the growing health industry.
