“Work has just about finished now on the upgrade of both Bridge Street in Stroud and Limeburner’s Creek Road near Clarence Town, and I’m delighted some of our government’s increased investment in roads is being injected into important projects in the local road network,” Dr Gillespie said.
MidCoast Council has just completed a $90,000 upgrade of Bridge Street in Stroud which includes a new 200-metre road pavement with a bitumen wearing surface and improvements to the drainage.
Dungog Shire Council has invested just over $400,000 on rehabilitation, widening and stabilisation of the pavement surface on Limeburner’s Creek Road, east of Duke Street. The 500-metre road upgrade also includes improvements to the road’s drainage.
Funding from the Federal Coalition Government’s Roads to Recovery Programme is provided to all local government authorities to assist them maintain and upgrade their local roads.
