Stabbed in the back during domestic dispute at Wallsend last night Regional News by NOTA - September 11, 2014 A woman has been taken to hospital after being stabbed during a domestic dispute at Wallsend, near Newcastle, last night. About 6:40pm, Wednesday 10 September 2014, police and paramedics were called to a house on Moresby Street following reports of a stabbing. It is believed a 48-year-old woman was involved in an argument with her partner at the premises when she was stabbed in the back with a steak knife. She was treated at the scene by paramedics and remains in hospital after receiving stitches to two stab wounds to her back. Detectives from Newcastle City Local Area Command attended the scene and spoke to a 42-year-old man, however, he has been released without charge pending further investigations. It is expected the man will be served with an apprehended violence order today (Thursday 11 September 2014) while investigations into the matter are continuing.
