Artworks that have been in exhibitions all over the world including Norman Lindsay, Jules Michel, Judith White, Eva Hannah and Helene Lee will be available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds feeding back into the college. Beautiful works from local artists will also be available to buy. “We will be showcasing almost 300 pieces of art this year for the first time,” Dr Timothy Petterson, St Philip’s Principal, told Bay News Of The Area. “It is a fantastic community day where we enjoy welcoming many visitors to our school,” Dr Petterson said. The official opening will be by Councillor Sally Dover at 7pm followed by light refreshments and entertainment. The following day promises to be a great community day with market stalls, fairground rides, show bags and face painting. There will be loads of entertainment, music and dance by local community dance groups as well as performances by the St Philip’s School band and choir. Come and experience a fabulous fun day and see all that St Philips has to offer,” Mandy Eggins, Registrar and Marketing Officer told Bay News Of The Area. A big draw card is a huge raffle that includes a Gold Coast Escape for up to six people, a couples escape at the Novotel, Darling Harbour as well as a Port Stephen’s Adventure Package. The junior, middle and senior school students will all participate with activities such as nerf gun shoot outs, ten pin bowling, a second hand book stall, barbecue and busking. ““A special thank you goes out to everyone involved including all of the sponsors, the P&F, parents, students, staff and teachers,” Ms Eggins said.
