There were 20 teams playing in two divisions on the cold and wet day. They didn’t allow it to dampen their spirits though as the team won the first three preliminary matches ensuring them a spot in the semi-finals. They powered through that match and won 15-5 to play Terrigal Public School in the Grand Final. Unfortunately they couldn’t maintain their winning streak, going down 30 to 10. Helen Bourne, Principal, told News Of The Area, “The boys played with great tenacity and sportsmanship throughout the whole day and they should be very proud of themselves.” The team travelled to Sydney in a bus kindly donated for the trip by Fingal Bay Sports Club. Helen said it was wonderful to see the local community supporting its students. Well done boys. By Sarah STOKES
