Sunday was St Michael’s leap year fair, and was great success for the school.

The once in every four year event saw the whole town turn out for a wonderful family day.

There was lots of fun to be had from jumping castles,face painting, sponge throwing, craft stalls, sausage sizzle and devonshire tea.

The Amazing Stunt jump was the highlight of the day, as was the Chocolate wheel and raffles, with so many wonderful donated prizes.

“What a successful day,” Sheree Gibson fair co-ordinator told Bay News Of The Area.

Late Sunday night Ms Gibson said, “We haven’t got a final tally yet but it’s safe to say we made close to twenty thousand dollars and that’s a top effort from our parents and wonderful community who made it a success.”

“I am so proud of our little school and everyone on my fete committee who worked so tirelessly to ensure the day’s success,” Sheree Gibson added.

The amount of money raised will see the school right on target with their plans and goal to have enough funds to purchase play equipment for the older students, as well as a portable stage for the hall.
