Kristen Jones is not only a teacher at St Brigids, but also the Spring Fair Convenor.

Her first Fair as convenor was when she was a parent at the school, and on the Parents and Friends (P&F) Committee.

This year’s Spring Fair will be her fifth as Convenor.

Kristen told News Of The Area, “This year we are raising money for our outdoor learning spaces.”

“As a staff we have been looking at the importance of unstructured play for children and the use of natural, outdoor learning spaces.”

The Spring Fair will include a wide range of well stocked stalls including the always popular craft, lolly and cake stalls, raffles, rides, barbecue, show bags, snow cones, ice cream and plants.

Kristen said, “This year we are also having a preloved clothing stall and and a special ‘Adopt a Bear’ stall where children can buy Teddy Bears, complete with adoption papers.”

“Our chocolate wheel has been generously supported by both local businesses and businesses from further afield.”

“We have over $5,500 worth of prizes to win, so the whole event is going to be wonderful, and very exciting,” she said.

The St Brigids Spring Fair is set for September 23, from 10:30-2:30pm.”

For those on Facebook, you are encouraged to check out the page ‘St Brigids Raymond Terrace Spring Fair’ for the full list and run down of gifts and raffle prizes donated so far, which is added to almost daily.

This event is set to be a day not to be missed.

News Of The Area will be there, and we hope to see you too.
