Central Coast driver Mick Turner took the chequered flag in the Sprintcars feature race, converting his pole position into a dominant race win after leading from start to finish over the 20- lap final. It was the 53-year old’s maiden Sprintcar feature race win since debuting in the class in 1996. Turner expressed his sheer delight in finally breaking through for his first Sprintcar feature race win. “I really enjoyed my night at Grafton Speedway as it is a real driver’s track, and to win my first Sprintcar feature race topped off my night,” he said. “To win my first Sprintcar feature race has done a lot of good for my confidence, especially after being out of the driver’s seat for the past six seasons, and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season with the Dick Thompson-owned team.” Sydney’s Mark Attard followed Turner over the line in second after briefly challenging the race winner in the middle stages, while one of the pre-race favourites Mick Sauer finished third. The next two race meetings at Grafton Speedway are scheduled to be held over the Christmas-New Year period, with the V8 Dirt Modifieds headlining the action on Tuesday, 28 December, and Monday, 3 January. The support classes on both nights are going to consist of AMCA Nationals, RSA Street Stockers, RSA Four Cylinder Sedans and RSA Junior Sedans. By Aiden BURGESS
