The Soldiers Point Club are a group of like-minded people who are dedicated to making the community a better place to live, work and grow.
The Soldiers Point Club has been involved in many community initiatives this year including the infamous Lions barbecues seen at the Tomaree Markets the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month and the annual Lions Christmas Cake Stall at Bunnings.
A highlight of this year was when a group of passionate Lions Club members took their barbecue to the recent Current Affair’s Richo’s Reno, the renovation done for the family of Nelson Bay resident and Highway Patrol Officer Sergeant Geoffrey Richardson.
The Lions fed the hungry crew and teams of volunteers as they began a mammoth four month renovation project on the Richardson’s home that was completed in just five days.
A Channel Nine spokesman told Bay News Of The Area, “It would never have been possible without the help of the generous companies, tradespeople and their suppliers.”
“The Soldiers Point Lions Club were incredibly generous and looked after everyone from the tradies to our own crew providing a barbecue to keep us fed and watered.”
As a member of The Lions Club you will experience a number of personal benefits including leadership skills, a sense of self worth and purpose, business skills, networking opportunities and lifelong friendships.
