A man has been charged after he allegedly fired a shot near at Tomago on Saturday.
About 5.20pm (Saturday 10 September), police were called to a property on Masonite Road, Tomago, following reports of a shot fired.
It’s understood two men, aged 40 and 41, were involved in a physical altercation.
The men separated and a short time later, it’s alleged the younger man returned with a firearm and fired a shot in the air.
No one was injured by the shot.
Officers from Port Stephens Local Area Command attended and allegedly located and seized a firearm and four cannabis plants.
The 40-year-old man was arrested and taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station where he was charged with four offences including fire firearm in or near public place, use unauthorised firearm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and cultivate prohibited plant.
He was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court the next day.
