It was declared a marvellous achievement for the time in the role, and testimony to her diligence and perseverance to not only start but develop and maintain a successful walking group. The aim of the free walking group is to provide an accessible, friendly, relaxed environment for people who are trying to move more. This has been shown to help improve symptoms of osteoarthritis in the joints and prevent heart disease. At the same time meeting new people in the beautiful outdoors of Shoal Bay. The Shoal Bay Pharmacy initiated the walking group under Cathy’s lead and hopes that more and more people join up and enjoy the walk that starts at the pharmacy each Tuesday and Friday morning at 7.00am.
