Unfortunately wild weather cancelled one of her events to Long Jump. However even in the wet this young athlete was ahead of the field taking out first place and the gold medals in both the 100 and 200 metre sprints. Anja Hurdman told News Of the Area, “The extremely wet weather conditions didn’t stop Shari from displaying her competitiveness on the track.” Hurdman competed in the Under 12s and achieved a time of 13.26 sec for the 100 metre sprint and 27.10 seconds in the 200 metre event. Shari is thrilled about her achievements and has trained hard all season, she is looking forward to a break prior to the Nationals. Shari will also be competing in Athletics representing Tomaree High School where she is in Year 7. Hurdman is on track to compete at the Little Athletics National Championships in Tasmania at the end of April.
