Sawtellian of the Year has been running for many years being awarded each New Year’s Day at the Sawtell Super Fun Day.

Last year’s winner was Jill Nash who has made a significant contribution to our community over many years and in particular her involvement in the restoration of Sawtell Cinema which we have all come to enjoy.

For the first time Young Sawtellian of the Year has been introduced for those of us who have not turned 18 by the end of the year and who have made a significant contribution to the Sawtell community.

Organising Committee Chairperson, Keith Bensley said the announcement of the introduction of Young Sawtellian of the year in a previous edition of Coffs News of the Area had generated new interest in the Super Fun Day across the whole community.

“Even those who are older than the qualifying age mentioned how great it was to see our young achievers being recognised,” Mr Bensley said.

“There will now be two awards recognising those who have made a significant contribution to the Sawtell community.”

Any person, club, school or organisation can nominate up to two persons they consider worthy of recognition.

Nominations can be one for each category or two for any one category but the nominee’s contribution must relate to the community of Sawtell.

Nominating someone is now easier than ever.

Nominations can be made on-line on the Sawtell Super Fun Day’s new website www.sawtellfunday.com.au.

Alternatively you can download a nomination form from the website and email it to sawtellfunday@gmail.com.au or send an email and the organising committee will email you back a nomination form.
