Paying a visit to the club to congratulate the management, Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh said, “I congratulate the entire team at Sawtell Golf Club for their successful application to install security fencing and car park lighting and provide accessible bathroom facilities.”

Rachel Jacobson, General Manager told News Of The Area, “Sawtell Golf Club has been successful in receiving funds from the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund.

“Monies from the grant will be used to upgrade and install much needed amenities at the club.

“Sawtell Golf Club is an integral part of the Coffs Harbour community, and with this grant, we will be able to ensure our club is not only a safer venue, but also, a more inclusive one for both our members and guests.

“The lighting to be installed in the carpark, as well as fencing along the Club’s boundary, is a much-needed safety measure for our Club Patrons.

“Installation of accessible course bathrooms will complement the accessible pathways that are currently being built along the course to assist those with mobility and/or disability issues.

“This demonstrates the Club’s ability to offer a universal design that provides future proofing.

“We are very thankful that our projects have been considered by The Stronger Country Communities Fund as it will allow the club to make these much-needed improvements.”

Mr Singh added, “I know the club’s management, staff and members have been keen to provide these important upgrades and now they can.”

The Stronger Country Communities Fund delivers guaranteed investment in every regional LGA in NSW, and has seen $500 million invested across more than 1900 local projects since 2017.
