Sawtell Golf Club hosts its Women’s Open Day Coffs Coast Sport Sport by News Of The Area - Modern Media - February 9, 2022 Players enjoy themselves at the annual Sawtell Golf Club Women’s Open Day SAWTELL Golf Club hosted top women’s golfers from a number of visiting clubs during its annual Women’s Open Day. A field of 129 women’s players took to the greens as players from Sawtell, Sawtell, Coffs Harbour, Nambucca Heads, Bonville, Guyra, Dorrigo, Gunnedah, Frederickton, Kew, Crescent Head, and Darwin clubs competed in the annual event. Coffs Harbour’s Keryn Little was the first division and overall winner with 39 points, while Sawtell women’s club champion Joy Lawrence finished runner up with 37 points on her home course. Chris Constable finished in third with 36 points on a countback. Sawtell Golf Club’s Jenny Kelloway competed on her home course and said the event was a success after attracting a big field from across the state. “We had a very successful Open Day at Sawtell Golf Club last Wednesday,” she said. “A fantastic morning tea and excellent course conditions helped the players get off to a good day. “It was a good standard of golf, but challenging in the humidity.” The Women’s Open Day Division 2 competition was won by Jennifer Johnston (Nambucca Heads) (34 cb), with Ruth Challinor (Coffs Harbour) runner up (34 cb), and 2nd Runner up Angela Paton (34 cb) Division 3 was won by Bronwyn Morgan (Sawtell) (38), with Lisa Urqhart (Nambucca Heads) runner up (34 cb), and Peaches Booth 2nd Runner up (34 cb). Division 4 was won by Debbie Telford (Sawtell) (34), with Jane Roser (Sawtell) runner up (32 cb), Linda Piccin (Nambucca Heads) (32 cb). By Aiden BURGESS
