You can minimise your risk of catching a lurgy. NSW Department of Health says there are things we can do to help avoiding the flu. You should always cover your face when you cough or sneeze, preferably with a tissue that you can put in the bin. If you don’t have a tissue, cough into your elbow. We should all wash our hands thoroughly and often, especially after we cough, sneeze or blow our noses. If you can’t wash your hands then use an alcohol-based hand rub. Stay at home until you’re well. Wait at least 24 hours after your fever resolves so you that you are unlikely to infect other people. Keep sick children away from school and other activities.
