Their roles at school will include; planning, collecting information for and running school assemblies, attending ceremonies throughout the year like ANZAC and presentation days, raising and lowering the flags each day, being a voice for the students and communicating with staff. Salt Ash is a wonderfully small, community minded school with strong values. They have an enrolment of 90 students. Consisting of four classes K/1, 1/2, 3/4 and 5/6. They implement the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework, where the expectations of all students is that they are Positive Respectful and Safe Learners. They also have a dedicated wellbeing program called ‘You Can Do It’, that explicitly teaches students the Keys to Success in being Persistent, Organised, Resilient, Confident and Getting Along. As well as curriculum focused academic activities, all students have to opportunity to be involved in many extracurricular activities including Star Struck, choir, dance group, a large variety of sporting teams, leadership programs and many more. The school has a thorough transition program that occurs at both ends of the primary school scale with kindergarten and high school transition always a very smooth process.
