THE Coffs Harbour Allstars overcame the Woolgoolga Bluesox in a thrilling 7-6 baseball match on Saturday at the Coffs Harbour Sport and Leisure Park.
After the fourth innings the Bluesox led 6-1 but the Allstars launched a memorable comeback to clinch the match by one point.
Allstars batsman Chris Cook told News Of The Area, “The Allstars trailed 6-1 in the bottom of last innings and came back to win with a walk-off base hit by Jose Warren to win the game.
“It looked like we were in trouble after allowing the Bluesox to make a break and tally a 6 run lead after 4 innings but with the bottom of the last we stepped up and a rousing speech, some nonsense about a game to tell your grandkids about, we strung hits and patient team batting to come back and take the win with a mighty walk off by Jośe Warren in her A grade debut much to the teams delight and her relief .
“This is why I love our club, we never give up and back each other,” stated Cook.
