Email us – media@newsofthearea.com.au Saturday will see the sixth round of the NSW Beach Volleyball Tour played in Coffs Harbour while Sunday will be the third round of the Junior Beach Volleyball Tour. The tour is unquestionably the highest level of beach volleyball in the state, providing a competitive environment for NSW’s elite and developing athletes. Hosted by Volleyball NSW, the two days of action are sure to meet the goal of delivering an exciting event for both players and spectators alike. Jarred Osborne, the events manager for Volleyball NSW, said Coffs Harbour was an easy choice to make when deciding on what venues to use for the tour this summer. “Volleyball NSW is not Volleyball Sydney, it’s time to take these events to regional areas and Coffs Harbour has a strong volleyball community with some really good players,” Osborne said. “So it was pretty obvious when we thought why not take events like this to Coffs.” The senior tour event on Saturday will start at about 8.30am. It will feature 16 mens and 16 women’s teams vying for victory. The two highest ranked teams entered into the men’s competition are the pairs of Mateusz Zieba and Nate Barke and Peter Fountotos and Georgios Fountotos. The women’s competition boasts some outstanding teams including Stefanie Fejes and Jesse Mann, Sarah Nolet and Nicolette Brice as well as Chantal Tung and Caitlin Cockburn. By Brad GREENSHIELDS
