THE Coffs Coast Festival of Motor Sport gets off to a flying start on November 5 igniting a whole month of events taking local motor sport to a new level of opportunity and excitement.

Together with Council and a special grant from the State Government, the Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour City is proud to present this inaugural Motor Sport extravaganza.

The Festival starts at Coffs Harbour Race Club on Saturday 5 November at 10am, going through to 7pm, with the official opening and a huge motor show of around 400 cars.

It finishes on 26 and 27 November with a two-day off-road event at Kempsey and the final Rally championship rounds for not only the Asia Pacific Rally but also the RESA Safety Motorsport Australia [ARC] and the Motorsport Australia NSW championship events.

“We are inviting competitors and spectators from any part of Australia to come to an amazing part of Australia and join us in our spectacular festival,” Coffs City Rotary Club executive Bob Carle, Chair of the Coffs Coast Festival of Motor Sport, told News Of The Area.

“Our festival has grown massively from the original project of putting on something the weekend before the Asia Pacific Rally to promote the event and entice people to come early and enjoy some holiday time in Coffs Harbour.

“As we have progressed and getting smashed by Covid over the last two years, the interest in the festival has grown into what we have today; every weekend in November with some code of motor sport between Kempsey and Grafton.

“It’s exciting to say this is a Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour City project and has built into a major proposed annual event before it has even been run.”

The program features all codes of motor sport.

Here’s a snippet.
– The RedPoint sponsored Hillclimb Series comprises three events at three different tracks – Kempsey, Raleigh Raceway and Grafton – over two weekends,
– The NSW Championship Rally Cross at Raleigh Raceway,
– Karting at Coffs Harbour Kart Racing Club on Phil Hawthorne Drive.
– Motorcycle racing, flat-track and motocross, and ‘Champions of the Dirt’ at Coffs Harbour tracks, and ‘Sultans of Slide’, flat track racing at Kempsey, over two weekends.
– Huge Motorcycle Show at Coffs Harbour, with some special bikes displayed.
– Off-road racing takes to the Dondingalong short course track.
– Grafton Speedway will feature a huge line up Saturday night.
– Burnout competition at Raleigh Raceway.

“We would like to thank all the participating clubs for their work in making this happen,” Bob said.

All this leads up to the NSW Rally 2022, a spectacular three day Rally event commencing 25-27 November, which hosts final rounds of the FIA Asian Pacific Rally Championship, The RESA Safety Motorsport Australia Rally Championship, and Motorsport Australia NSW Rally Championship to finish up an amazing month of Motor Sport.
