The program is an international scheme by which Rotary offers local businesses and organisations the chance to recognise employees who demonstrate excellence in the workplace.

This year the Rotary Club of Myall Coast was pleased to have 10 local employers nominate a worthy candidate to receive the award.

Rotary President Peter Sivyer said, “We were delighted to help local businesses and organisations recognise the value of excellence in the workplace.”

A large gathering of candidates, employers, family, friends and Rotary members enjoyed a celebratory dinner and presentation at the Golf Club last week.

The winning candidates were Julie Young from the Karuah Public School, Taylah Boyle from the Tea Gardens Hotel, Megan Keenan, Woodwards Garden Centre, Kieran Mackenzie, Altitude Travel, James Howell from Hawks Nest Beach Realty, Beau Smith from Roger’s Computer Service, Fiona Mobbs, owner of Fiona’s Family Café, Scott Weippart from Autocare Tea Gardens, Librarians Carol Johnson and Chris Shelly from the Tea Gardens Library.

A great night was had by all with the candidates presented with a trophy, together with a certificate with a citation by their employer of their excellence in the workplace.

Rotary’s Roger Digby said, “Congratulations to all the candidates for demonstrating excellence in their work.”
