RIO CARNIVAL comes to Bowraville in the most fabulous way on Saturday 5 February 2022 with a fundraiser for the iconic Bowraville Theatre.

It is no secret the performing arts sector has been severely affected by the pandemic and the volunteer operated Bowraville Theatre still has bills to pay, however has been unable to open its doors to bring in revenue.

Enter stage left Rocky Rewha Rewha from the Bowraville Art Council and his able team, mix with a million sequins, big hair, awesome music and barrels of laughs, put them on the verandah of the Bowra Hotel and you have a fundraising event that will be talked about for years to come.

Two of the Mid North Coast’s leading DJs, Ian Yates and Christian Diez, will have the wrought iron verandah pumping with an incredible dance party and if COVID restrictions affect dancing Rocky has a show up his well tailored sleeve that will leave the crowd screaming for more.

Dress for this evening is bright, loud and fabulous and Rocky has decreed, “The more sequins the better.”

Rocky told News Of The Area, “The event will also include a Drag Show featuring CoCo Canal, Cara Van Park and I.

“I will be having a costume workshop at my place on Sunday 23 January for anyone who wants to hone their costuming skills and you can get the details by calling me on 0474 025 803.”

It happens at 7:30 pm on Saturday 5 February 2022 and all proceeds from this night of nights will go towards keeping the Bowraville Theatre alive.

There will be nibbles supplied, drinks available for purchase at the bar and a prize for the best costume.

Entry is by paying $25 per head at the door but numbers will be limited so you should register for the event by going to the Bowraville Theatre Facebook Page.
