Rick Price performs classics and new songs at Sounds of Rock

Aussie rock favourite Rick Price will perform in Sounds of Rock festival in October.

RICK Price, Australian singer/songwriter, is stoked to be back playing to Coffs Harbour audiences in the Sounds of Rock festival in October.

The line-up of Aussie music legends including Daryl Braithwaite and Ian Moss, and Aussie rock favourites Baby Animals, Ross Wilson, Dragon, Radiators, Wendy Matthews and Eurogliders.

Rick will perform alongside these iconic names performing at Coffs Harbour Showground on 22 October.

“Can’t wait to come back,” Rick told News Of The Area.

“I have many fond memories, and some wonderful shows in Coffs over my thirty-year career.”

Rick is currently working on a couple of projects.

“I’m producing an album for a new emerging Australian artist and also working on writing for my own new album.

“In Coffs at Sounds of Rock I’ll be performing my classic hits, some new songs and soul tracks from my latest album, Soulville.

“I love regional Australia and Coffs Harbour is an incredible part of the world.

“I love playing music at festivals because the audiences are real music lovers,” he said.

With lockdowns and cancelled shows, Rick said, “Being back performing is a little like getting out of prison.

“I just completed a fabulous Australian tour.

“It is such a thrill to be in-front of a live audience again…nothing compares.”

Rick currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee, a far cry from his humble beginnings as a child performer with his family band in country Queensland dance halls.

Self-taught, he has forged an internationally praised and respected career spanning three decades.

His accolades include multiple gold and platinum selling albums and numerous music industry awards including the prestigious APRA Song Of The Year award for his song ‘Heaven Knows’ and both the APRA and Export Music Australia awards for his outstanding achievements overseas.

In 2009 his move to the United States sparked not only new influences and a broader style but also a return to his childhood musical roots.

While there are still echoes of a pop artist, country rhythm and blues, meld beautifully with folk undertones to create the hybrid sounds of albums such as The Water’s Edge and Tennessee Sky.

Rick Price is loved around the world for his amazing voice, soulful songs and consummate multi-instrumentalist performances.

Price is also a well-respected producer, helping other artists to refine their songs in the studio.
