Some of her works stand, some hang, and others are wall pieces. All of Louise’s sculptures give new life to familiar objects. Christine du Fresne, a painter and printmaker, looks at the moments of renewal in our lives and plays with these ideas through figurative relationships. Her figures are often in awkward, self-conscious but familiar poses, creating a ‘theatre of life’ on the canvas where everything is in a state of transition. Both artists have tertiary qualifications in their respective fields, and have had committed and robust art practices since qualifying, exhibiting in various mediums over the years. RENEWAL is a dynamic but intimate exhibition, and invites viewers to reflect on their own processes of renewal. The exhibition runs from Thursday 6 October to Sunday 30 October at Gloucester Regional Art Gallery.
