STEPHEN Jennings, newly appointed Program Manager of Real Futures Foundation, has innovative and exciting plans for the Foundation.

Coming from a management background, having spent 20 years in education and training with TAFE and Westrac training institute, Stephen said, “What drives me is my passion to assist those who need it to navigate through school to either further education or employment.”

“I intend to raise awareness of the Foundation to more of the Port Stephens area and to encourage students and businesses to enjoy the rewards the Foundation can bring, the more businesses who can open their door to a student, the more we can support local business supporting local people.”

In the pipeline are programs for male and female students, leadership programs for school ambassadors and school captains.

Stephen would like to thank those businesses already on board and said the support from both large and small business has been very encouraging and he encourages others to consider the benefits for them and for a potential future employee.

Work experience, workshops, transport, equipment, coaching, individual sponsorship and projects and financial support are just a few of the areas where a business can offer support.

The aim is to give students employability skills, such as communication, punctuality, team work, following instructions in a real work environment, experience and exposure to the work place in a supported environment.

Cassey Sheather is one such student who has been achieving recognition in her chosen career of catering and continues to excel.

2016 saw students complete a barbecue area at Tomaree High School where students will be serving cooked food for the breakfast club.

Stephen is keen to meet with any business who may have an interest in supporting this Foundation.
