NESTLED in a rural oasis in Bobs Farm is a growing industry committed to healthy, chemical-free living.

Local mother Kristy Arnall is the driving force behind Real Food Culture, a family business passionate about providing Australian-grown produce to the public.

Kristy’s own interest in sustainable and organic lifestyle choices, along with the birth of her first child, resulted in a career direction more aligned with her personal beliefs.

“We moved from Sydney and started the wholefoods journey,” Mrs Arnall said.

“As a mum, it was important for me to know where our food was coming from and how it had been grown.”

The importance of fresh fruit and vegetables is well-documented.

It contributes to overall good health, provides protection against disease and also assists with weight control.

But Australia has an alarming rate of obesity with the Australian Institute for Health and Welfare stating that “two in three adults” and “one in four children” are overweight or obese.

The statistics for regional and remote areas are even starker with 15 percent more people overweight or obese than their city counterparts.

Unhealthy food options are often about convenience and price, so Kristy has ensured that Real Food Culture not only offers quality, but affordability and accessibility.

“We use community buying power to purchase and sell in bulk, which means we can offer our customers the best price,” she said.

“With our online ordering and delivery service, it is actually more convenient than going to the shops, particularly for mums with small children.”

In keeping with the community-centred venture, volunteers work in return for fresh fruit and vegetables and a local mum is the delivery driver.
