FOLLOWING on from a recent sell-out concert at the Raleigh Hall, the Bellingen and Nambucca District Rural Australians for Refugees (RAR) group will be putting on its final fundraiser for 2022 at Mylestom Hall, located on River Street, on Sunday 22 November. Alternatively, you can secure your tickets in advance by phoning Mike Griffin on 6569 5419. “All proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Asylum Seekers Centre (ASC) in Newtown,” said Mike Griffin, Bellingen and Nambucca District Rural Australians for Refugees (RAR) group. “The ASC does vital work in supporting asylum seekers with food, medical, legal and housing advice, helping with children’s school uniforms and other expenses, interpreting services and much besides. “They are largely dependent on the generosity of donors to keep their doors open. “Last year, our local RAR group raised more than $14,000 to support the ASC’s work,” Mike said.
