Florence, who is in her seventies, is a self-taught painter who specialises in Australian wildflowers.

Her works are adorned with flannel flowers, banksias and stunning waratahs.

As artist in residence at Morpeth Gallery Florence will be painting teapots and other pieces of china.

Visitors to the gallery can watch as Florence creates stunning masterpieces featuring the treasures of Australian flora.

Also exhibiting at the gallery will be Master Painter of the World John McCartin.

John has new paintings for the exhibition “Festival of Two Palettes”.

Visitors to the gallery will have a chance to talk with him and admire this International award winning artist, as well as Florence and other artists of note.

Florence Humphreys told News Of The Area, “I participated in the Teapot Festival in Morpeth for 30 years, painting as visitors watched, and I am very pleased to be going back to Morpeth, showcasing the beautiful wildflowers of our region in art.”

Last year Florence held an exhibition at the Hunter Regional Botanic Gardens and is showing no signs of slowing up in her prolific production of stunning artworks.

Entry to the exhibition and to watch the Artists in Residence paint is free.
