The Soccer fields, situated by the river, are well used sporting facility in Raymond Terrace.

The fields also house the Raymond Terrace Cricket Clubs fields, and are adjacent to the Port Stephens Netball Courts, and the Raymond Terrace Little Athletics Field, making the area quite the hub for sporting teams in Raymond Terrace.

NSW Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres visited the Raymond Terrace Soccer Club fields with Catherine Cusack MLC and Port Stephens Mayor Ryan Palmer.

“The Liberal National NSW Government has a history of strong economic management which means sport clubs across the state can reap the benefits,” said Mr Ayres.

“Community sports organisations like Raymond Terrace Soccer are key to the health and happiness of young people right across NSW but equipment and upkeep are not cheap so when the government is able to step in and help everyone wins.”

Catherine Cusack MLC said Port Stephens has a rich sporting history and every bit of financial help that keeps regional communities active is a fantastic thing.

“Assistance like what we have seen Raymond Terrace Soccer Club receive today and NSW Government initiatives like the $100 Active Kids Voucher help clubs survive and drives participation in sport,” Ms Cusack said.

Club President Peter Petryk was pleased to see the government focused on regional community sport.

“For a club of our size, there is a lot of wear and tear on our fields and it can be hard to find those extra funds for things like line markers – we are really grateful for the NSW Government’s assistance with this grant.”
