The Scouts group are combining fundraising for their group with awareness of Scouts in Raymond Terrace, and a special safety initiative.
Raymond Terrace Scouts Leader John Doyle, told News Of The Area, “What we are proposing is to offer to paint the drive kerb wings and drive on strip with a white concrete paint.”
“This will make the driveway visible on dark or rainy nights, and make access for people onto the drive much easier and safer.”
“We are asking $15 for the ‘kerb wings’ only and $25 for ‘kerb wings and drive on strip’ for a single (3m nominal) width Drive on Strip.”
“Wider drive ways would be by negotiation, starting at $35 for kerb wings and double (6m nominal) width drive on strip,” he said.
Anyone interested in seeing the work so far of these dedicated Scouts, can do so by having a drive past of their trial properties in Raymond Terrace on Benjamin Lee Drive to see the trial ‘kerb wings’, and the ‘kerb wings and drive on strip’ opposite Chifley Drive.
Residents who would like to book the Scouts for this safety installation at their home, or to obtain further information, may contact either the Group Leader Dennis Mountain on 4987 5507 or John Doyle on 4987 3841.
You can also text your name and address to 0412 539 200, and a Scout will return the contact to speak with you about a booking.
