Or media@newsofthearea.com.au[/caption] Or CLICK FOR ADVERT QUOTE Their ‘Year 12 Celebration Day’ was a resounding success with these amazing Year 12 students raising a whopping $1212.30 from a day jam-packed full of fun activities for the Westpac Helicopter. This charity was chosen in appreciation of assistance that the helicopter service gave to Year 12 student Nikita Taylor when she was involved in an accident earlier this year. The day kicked off with students greeting staff at the gates, asking kindly for donations to be able to use the staff car park and park their cars. Mr Baxter, the school principal, was surprised when he came face to face with his doppelgangers – several students dressed as him, complete with face masks. Breakfast pancakes were the order of the day, before a hilarious whole school assembly. Students paid to see their favourite teachers, and the odd principal and deputy or two, given a taste of a cream pie in the face before being dunked in cold water. All for a great cause of course. To top off the fun for the whole school, a disco was held in the hall at recess. The Year 12 students then headed up to the oval for some water fun and to spend some time by themselves. School representative Lue Fagan told News Of The Area, “It really is a huge congrats to the student organisers of the celebration day activities. It was a smooth, well planned and well-run morning, inclusive of every student.” “All students were respectful and very well behaved.” Well done Irrawang High School Year 12 class of 2017 for using your special day to raise funds to help others.
