Maryanne Durrant told News Of The Area, “We haven’t had a show for four years, so all our quilts haven’t been seen before.” “There will be a variety of beautiful quilts on display, both hand and machine quilted,” Janette Coppock said. While many of the quilts will be for sale, the Quilting Group constantly donates their works to hospitals, their hand-made creations very popular with neonatal hospital units in the Hunter region. With Christmas less than three months away, the ladies have also been busy creating delightful decorations to brighten any tree. “Many members have also been making unique Christmas decorations which will be on sale, the proceeds going towards the purchase of resources for the sewing room at the Centre.” “If that isn’t enough to fill their days, they have also made some charming items as prizes for the Tombola to be held over the weekend,” Janette said. And if you’re a bit peckish there’ll also be a sausage sizzle. The ‘Quilts by the Myall’ display is being held over the three days of the long weekend, Saturday 30 September, Sunday 1 and Monday 2 October from 10am to 4pm.
