MEMBERS of the Probus Club of Port Stephens were very excited to see their non-active member Cyril Blowes and his lovely wife, Patti recognized by Radio 2HD on Valentine’s Day as the longest marriage in the Newcastle area; 78 years in March and Cyril will turn 106 years old in April.

They were interviewed live on 2HD and presented with flowers and chocolates by the station at Harbourside Haven where they both now live.

This inspiring couple were nominated by Brenda Gray from the Probus Club of Port Stephens.

The Probus Club of Port Stephens has hit an all-time high for the district after 9 Inductees were welcomed into the club at the last meeting.

That leaves the membership at a total of 157 and counting.

Ann Gibson of the Probus Club of Port Stephens told News Of The Area, “It is normal for the number of members to fluctuate but this is a great achievement for a very active club.”
