A special welcome was extended to 103-year-old member Cyril Blowes and wife Patti. “At 103, Cyril still makes an effort to attend most of the Probus meetings and always attends the two special luncheons of the year,” Ann Gibson, publicity officer, told Bay News Of The Area. “Another important end of year event is the finals of the Snooker Championships and presentation dinner,” Mrs Gibson said. This group of Probus men, led by Dave Lingard, play every Tuesday and their fun and friendship is highly evident. The Champion for 2016 is Pete Curry and runner-up Malcolm Craddock. Most improved went to a very excited Roy Gambell and Encouragement Award to Kevin Lewis. 26 players and partners enjoyed a great night at The Wharf Restaurant to celebrate.
