Probus Club Of Fingal Bay Wining and Dining Port Stephens Port Stephens News by News Of The Area - Modern Media - February 8, 2022 Margaret Marlin, Norman and Rosamund Martin, Geraldine and Roy Jeffery. MEMBERS of the Probus Club of Fingal Bay really do like to be beside the seaside. The ongoing need to obey the rules for managing COVID-19 and its variations has meant meetings in certain places have been set aside by the club for the time being. Email us – media@newsofthearea.com.au Changes were inevitable with Fingal Bay Probus members being advised that the monthly wine and dine meeting would become a COVID-19 safe picnic at Conroy Park, instead of a crowded restaurant, making many members delighted to attend. Julia Redlich told News Of The Area, “This is one of the club’s favourite parks, Vicki and John Archer suggested we either brought our own picnic, plus drinks, with us, or studied the take-away menu from the nearby Corlette Store (well and truly tried and tested in the past). “Pre-paid orders were delivered with express efficiency. “It was good to be out and about with friends again enjoying the sunshine and energising sea air – and the next such event is eagerly awaited,” she said. Probus Clubs cater to the retired and semi retired community offering fellowship and fun. During these times the benefit of being connected for older Australians can’t be underestimated. The Probus Club activities are member driven and offer great companionship. Port Stephens has several Probus Clubs, some single gender and others combined. The Fingal Bay Probus Club meets at 9.30am on the second Monday of each month at the Fingal Bay Sports Club, 100 Rocky Point Road, Fingal Bay. New members and visitors are welcome to learn about Probus and the club’s activities that include barbecues, morning teas and wine appreciation and soon – fingers crossed – more day trips.
