Just some of the medal winners from the Regional Championships. PORT Stephens has active Little Athletics Clubs and our youth shone at the recent regional athletics carnival. Bob Walkley told News Of The Area, “All athletes achieved personal bests in their chosen events.” Aileesha Oudshoorn qualified to represent the region at the State Championships in three events. She came first in the 80m hurdles with a personal best time, first in the high jump and first in the triple jump. Elara Barnes also scored a personal best and came first in the 60m hurdles. But she didn’t stop there, also taking out first place in the 100m, second in the 70m and second in the 200m, qualifying for the State Championships in 4events. Emma Tibbs came third in the high jump, third in the triple jump with a personal best. Searni Thorning also did well with a third in the 1500m and fifth in the 800m, both in personal best times. Thibau Beckon came second in the 700m pack start race. Congratulations to all those who competed.
