More fundraising options on the day were a guessing competition, 100 Club, Mulligan’s booklets full of free hits/kicks along with several novelty holes including substituting a golf club and ball for a hockey stick and ball. Surprisingly enough, there was a hole in one on this hole. Volunteers were out in force collecting donations from the golfers with a total of just over $6000 raised on the day. “It was an amazing response from the local community to support this most worthwhile charity and we are most grateful for their generosity,” Rhondda Shaw, PSWCSG Secretary and Publicity Officer, told Bay News Of The Area. Next year’s Charity Golf Day has been planned for Tuesday 14 November. If you are a woman living in Port Stephens who is battling cancer, the Women’s Cancer Support Group can assist. “These ladies rely on family and friends to provide much-needed assistance, but we are here to help and to give the everyday carers a break,” Ms Shaw said.
