It’s especially difficult for those families and kids having to deal with major illnesses at this time of a truly national emergency.

This is where the not for profit charity, Country Hope aims to help those falling upon hard times whilst having to battle cancer and other diseases through the Riverina and Murray regions.

Country Hope is supported each year by the fundraising efforts through the Riverina Redneck Rally and in 2020 the rally will start in West Wyalong and finish on the shores of Nelson Bay on 6 March.

Shoal Bay local, Darren James and his team ‘The Coasties’ have signed up again to assist in the cause and are calling on the good people of Port Stephens to get behind them.

“We want to show those folks battling in the bush that us beach dwellers care and are thinking about them,” said Mr James.

“We actually finished top fundraisers for the rally last year so that’s why the event is finishing here in 2020.”

‘The Coasties’ will be holding fundraisers leading up to the start of the rally next year with a street food event at Evviva, Nelson Bay and the return of the infamous pig races to Anna Bay Tavern.

The street food fundraiser will be held this Friday 15 November at Evviva, Nelson Bay at 6pm.

Tickets are $45 and can be purchased at the venue with all proceeds going to the cause.

Anyone wishing to support or sponsor ‘The Coasties’ for the 2020 rally and their fundraisers can email Mr James at darren@efsservice.com.au.
