Recently 50 Probus members from five different Probus Clubs in Port Stephens
joined together for a trip to the Snowy Mountains, where they rode the chair lifts over thick snowfields, visited Lake Eucumbene, Adaminaby, Cooma Gaol, Gaden trout and salmon hatchery, tasted schnapps and gin at the local distillery, shared a picnic on the banks of the Thredbo River, and visited the Snowy Mountains Hydro Scheme Centre, whilst staying at the Lake Jindabyne Hotel with amazing lakeside views.
It was all such a contrast of scenery to that found here in Port Stephens.
“There was such a sharing of laughter as many memories were created in such a beautiful location whilst sharing breakfasts, lunches and dinners together.
Fran Wathen told News Of The Area, “When I organised this tour away I had no idea of how it would surpass all my expectations and my greatest joy was to see the interaction between fellow Probus members, as we had so many happy times together.
“My thanks to all who came with me and made this trip so truly amazing”.
She believes that while group left Port Stephens not knowing most of their fellow travellers, they returned having formed new friendships, broadening the local Probus community and promoting unity within the local community.
