Mr Anthony Merritt has been appointed Head Coach, with Mr Travis Connolly as his Assistant Coach, both for the third year running.
Mr Merritt’s goals for the season ahead are still to build a competitive team, based around a lot of returning players and some solid recruiting.
He wants to continue to build and foster a club and community culture based around the Club.
Anthony told News Of The Area, “I also hope to improve our fitness and skills all around, this will require a solid turnout and commitment for pre-season training.”
The Port Stephens Power Women’s AFL team are coming into their third season since their inception in 2018.
The 2019 season showed some promising signs of improvement and competitiveness.
Over the summer break, players have been keeping fit by participating in touch football and weekly Park Runs.
Whilst official pre-season training starts on 14 January for both senior and juniors, some keen players have started having a kick around in preparation.
Club President, Mr Mark Edgar, told News Of The Area, “I am really happy to have them both back again for next season.”
“They are both respected coaches and are very dedicated to our women’s team which is great. I am really looking forward to another great season.”
