PORT Stephens Council is calling on the community to comment on a discussion paper to improve the existing Nelson Bay Town Centre and Foreshore Strategy. Since its adoption in 2012, the Nelson Bay Strategy has sought to guide the town towards becoming more attractive to tourists, the business community and residents. Group Manager of Development Services, Mike McIntosh, said that despite significant growth in the housing and construction industries in the last four years, there has been limited private investment in the town centre.
