The church donated the venue for the occasion.

Hosted by local artist June Orr, all materials were provided including snacks and a cuppa.

Sunsets, watercolours and a free expression table were all set up to encourage all ages to feel comfortable.

June told News Of The Area, “I have been following the Community Wellbeing program on social media for some time and they are trying so hard to bring some relief to the situation, so to be asked to be a part of that was amazing.”

“To see the kids smile and laugh as they almost stepped into their sunsets was just magical.”

“I enjoyed it so much I am happy to help again with another class later in the year,” Ms Orr said.

The Community Wellbeing program has door knocked, letter box dropped and used social media to engage with the community and plan events that appeal to all ages.

So far the community has successfully planned a morning relaxation class and community cuppa with attached creche, an evening yoga class, two movie nights, and a family beach day.

They have received confirmation to run another term of the community cuppa, relaxation class and yoga class to begin within the next few weeks.

Julie Bailey, one of the events key community planners said, “The art class was another great community event, full of smiles, laughter and creativity.”

“We welcome everyone to come along and enjoy the events being offered and are always happy to welcome people who would like to take an active role in helping pull the activities together.”
