This concert is sure to inspire the romantics featuring a beautiful work by Franz Schubert with the chorals accompanied by wind players from the Newcastle Youth Orchestra.
The music will take those attending on a romantic journey through Germany, New York, London and beyond with favourite themes like; the moon and New York city.
The concert will be directed by Musical Director, and soprano soloist, Kathryn Dries (BA), and Associate Artist Callum Close, who holds executive positions with Musica Viva both in Newcastle and Sydney and is a passionate and dedicated Arts administrator, facilitator and collaborator.
Joanna Davies President of Port Harmony told News Of The Area, “Concerts of the calibre of ‘An Affair to Remember’ are only possible through our ability to employ professionals and this has been funded through a cultural grant from Port Stephens Council.”
She believes that Port Harmony offers a choir, which comprises men and women, that has evolved to perform a wide array of sacred, secular and popular music which meets the needs of the diverse population of the local area.
“While new members are welcome to join Port Harmony membership is by audition,” she said.
Tickets for the concert on Saturday 25 November are $25 and are available from Eventbrite.com.au or Black Pepper at Salamander Bay Shopping Centre.
