Peter Hallett of Nelson Bay secured two of the four in Best Technical and Best Poomsae. For the second year the Best Overall Athlete went to Jake Edwards. Best Overall Team Score trophy was awarded to Team Him Do, with an amazing score of 17. “I enjoy and appreciate the camaraderie of this Tournament, it is good to see the club do so well,” Peter Hallett told News Of The Area. “As an instructor, it is very rewarding to see students start with little confidence in the sport, to the point where they compete in events such as this one.” Hamish Clark, eight years old, again brought home medals in his chosen field, two silver and one bronze. Hamish said, “I get excited and nervous about the tournament and feel very proud of myself when I have competed.” Speaking with Ronald Bergan, Master Instructor at Him Do Tae Kwon Do, it was evident how very proud he is of his students, speaking highly of his team, he said, “The Team went very well, I am especially proud with those who received the major awards, and to top it off, we won the Best Overall Team score.” “Out of the six major awards we brought home four, this is a testament to the dedication and calibre of students and instructors we have here.” Ron would like to take the opportunity to thank the community for their support and interest during the tournament.
