The 2019 Port Stephens Art prize is set to be a fantastic exhibition to all visitors to the area. All artworks will be for sale. The exciting sections that you will be able to view are Travel: Colour and Wonder, Australiana: Over Land and Sea, Port Stephens Art Prize: Our Natural Environment and Miniatures: Taste and Sound and Portraiture: The One Who Touched My Heart. The descriptions of why the artist has chosen their subject will be a highlight for visitors to understand the creative behind the work. The exhibition will provide visitors access to artworks of an extremely high standard and should not be missed. The 14th Art Prize Exhibition, is presented by the Port Stephens Community Arts Centre , situated at Cultural Close off Shoal Bay Rd Nelson Bay from the 16 – 24 March 2019. Nada O’Loughlin-Yonge, the Gallery Director for the Port Stephens Community Arts Centre volunteers a huge amount of time investing and encouraging all members of the Arts Centre to produce items they love creating as well as mentoring budding artists during the workshops that she runs. Meryl Miller of the Port Stephens Community Arts Centre told News Of The Area, “Nada will be judging an internal section of the Port Stephens Art Prize, where all entries registered by current members of the Port Stephens Community Arts Centre are automatically entered into the Encouragement Award provided they have not previously won a monetary art prize. “The Encouragement Award will be selected and announced by Nada O’Loughlin-Yonge as recognition of all the effort that she puts into the Gallery,” she said.
