They are showcasing their talents at a concert at Port Stephens Uniting Church on 1 September at 2pm.

Join Kathryn Dries (Mezzo Soprano) and Callum Close (Pianist), in association with Port Harmony, as they present a programme of divine English Art Songs.

The works performed will be by composers Gerald Finzi, Ralph Vaughan-Williams and Michael Head bring to life the breathtaking poetry of William Shakespeare, Dante Gabriel Rosetti and Francis Ledwidge.

Kathryn Dries will be a feature artist at the concert has been singing and playing the piano for thirty years.

She has a Bachelor of Music from Newcastle University Conservatorium of Music as well as a range of qualifications and awards in both singing and piano.

Kathryn has performed various major roles and she has featured as a soloist in an abundance of oratorios and recitals.

Callum Close began his musical studies at a young age and holds a Bachelor of Music (Honours) from the University of Newcastle and an A.Mus.A in classical piano.

He is Director of Music at St Luke’s Anglican Church, Mosman and, prior to this, was Sub-Organist of Christ Church Cathedral, Newcastle, and Musical Director of a number of community choirs, including Newcastle City Choir (2013-16) and the Conservatorium Songshine Choir (2015-18).

Callum leads an active performing schedule as a recitalist, accompanist, conductor and chorister, having performed in cathedrals across Australia and internationally.
