Police are investigating after a teenager was fatally hit by a car in Homebush Bay yesterday.

Just before 6pm (Thursday 16 June 2016), emergency services were called to Bennelong Parkway, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics treated a 17-year-old male at the scene. He was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition and died a short time later.

The 17-year-old male driver of the car, a Toyota Corolla sedan, was not injured during the incident.

He was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
